My name is Emily Thompson. I am an ordnance officer in the United States Army National Guard. I am passionate about anything that allows me to help soldiers. People join the military for many different reasons. Mine is simple: I love the military. I love the men and women in it, I love their families and I love taking care of them.
My time in college was spent on traditional academics as well as copious amounts of time in Thatcher Hall. Thatcher Hall is the Army/Air Force ROTC building. In it, I earned my commission and used my national four year scholarship to become a second lieutenant in the Oklahoma National Guard.
Becoming a lieutenant has taught me the value of balancing my time between my men, my profession, my job and my personal life. It is an honor to serve, to be married to a service member and to represent my country and my state. Go Pokes! Go Army!
